These masks were for our final project. There just pieces of old palm trees that i found on the ground. I started noticing the formality of them, but at the same time how unique each one was. Very much like a humans face. we all have the same parts and reletively similar structure, but undoubtably we all look different. So i painted the same face on every single piece, but the final outcome was a dozen individual personalities.

This video was my interpretation of our conversations assignment. My character was a boy who spent most his childhood living along a creek. Raised by nature, spending most of his time alone. The sound of my feet maintain a steady rhythm similar to a song.

My wire figures were done as an example of our stencil quick challenge. I tried to mimic the same gestural lines i use when i draw to create a simple one-line "stencil"

Another quick challenge was scratching. so ironically i scratched metal with sandpaper to create a smooth surface. I pounded raw copper into thin bands then formed them into various shapes while they were still malliable. I made two bracelets and a ring

These are a few examples of transparent. the cd case was already transparent so i decided to let it be a retracting window that would change my characters face. while the guitar in a box is a sort of folk-art shrine.

these cacoon looking lanterns are made of modge podge and thread. i just wound and wound and they would create these abstract organic sculptures. a pleasant surprise everytime

all of these outfits were made with the same piece of material. i made about 150 different dress designs with one piece of fabric. it was about 2 feet wide and 30 feet long! no strings or pins, just wrapping and tucking.

fishing has always been a passion of mine. so when water was assigned it was the first thing that came to mind. fly fishing is an artform in itself, along with the flies that are used. no two flies are identical. copying nature is harder than it sounds, but i tried a couple of these out and actually had success.

this was my pollack approach to painting something that reminded me of gravity. not my favorite work.

this was our first assignment. cardboard. i made a fun stencil with a paice of cardboard and went out at night painting these figures in various spots.
